I said it during the first mass letter campaign and I'll say it again...anyone who takes the time to send in a letter or fills out the form letter, you are MORE then welcome anytime here in the PNW and I will thank you but doing everything I can to ensure that your stay comes complete with wild steelie on the end of your line. :)

For whatever it is worth I send them a mail here from Sweden. Ever since I had a chance to fish the Skagit and Sauk a few springs ago, I have longed to return. Will they be closed this spring, too?

Hi Per,

You're right - we all need to do everything we can for our brothers on either side of the Atlantic to help save our threatened stocks of Steelhead and Atlantic Salmon.

I think your email will have even more weight with the Commissioners - when they finally begin to realize that people travel great distances (and spend $$$) to Catch and Release Wild Steelhead on our rivers they might begin to get the idea that not killing them is a good idea! :tsk_tsk:

In the time it takes you to read this thread, you could be sending off a letter to improve fishing and steelhead recovery. I think also that doublespey raises a good point about stuffing dollars into the local economy for the chance at catching and releasing wild steelhead. I stressed this in my letter.
