View Full Version : lines for the 914-3 Sage and other rods
I think Dana had a post on the ISC board to the effect that the lines that worked for the Sage 914-3 would also work for the 14' 9/10 St. Croix and some other 3 piece rods. Does anyone know if this is right or remember that post or thread?
There is a thread back there somewhere, but there is more current info. Have a look a Simon's recommendations (second series) on the speypages (http://www.speypages.com)--he has all the St Croix rods listed. I think you would also find that the new Airflo Delta Tapers in the 9/10 would also work very well, and I would look at the 8/9 Mastery Spey if you prefer SA's products.

Ii'm buying a sage 9140-3, and am currently running a RIO 9/10 accl and an 9/10/11 on my St Croix 14' 9wt. Was told that this line wil load my 9140-3 perfectly. So I'd say the reverse, since it loads my rod nicely now.
Dana Thanks for your help.

The Sage Euro 9140-3 compared to the ST. Croix 14' 9/10.
As an example, most would use the 10/11 accelerator on the 9140-3 and the 9/10 accelerator on the St. Croix 14' 9/10.
