Very nice flies, especially the Black and Yellow tube. I fish a similar pattern, with a slightly simplified dressing, during the spring months on the Spey and the Dee.

Hi G Ritchie
Thank you!
Ive used the Black & Yellow myself on the Dee in the spring in a light dressed edition with great success. I´ve also used on the Gaula river where black and yellow colours are a must.
Also the seatrout in Rio Gallegos - Argentina seems to like the colour. I visit Loops camp some years ago, and got a few at the week. I gave the guides the ones I had in my boxes when I left, and they told me that the flies have been killers trough out the season.
Here in Denmark its very good for both seatrout and salmons specialy in the autumm.

Nice flies. They look very similar in style to those of Michael Frodin.Beau
They look sick! Great job. What material did you use for the wings? Look like lama to me.

Hi Glen
I use Tempeldog hair for the wings.
Its a little bit more alive in the water than most other materials, and it dosent colapse in fast current.

Hi beau purvis
Frödins way to tie modern salmon hairwing is what I call the Skandinavian Style.
Frödins flytying articels did make this tying style popolar specialy over here.
There is two tings thats important when you tie this type:
1; Tie the fly durable.
2; Every material you put on the fly, shut be tied in so it has as alive as possible.
If you watch his Dvd you will see how he tie the material on.

These are really something. The black and yellow would work great on the tea colored Gaspe rivers in Quebec.
What was the title of Frodin's DVD? Where is it available? (Google search reveals only the book)

Hi Chris
Actually I used the Black and Yellow last year on the Cascapedia, but I had great succes with a Green Highlander tied in the same style.
Frödin have made two Dvd´s and I think Guideline in Sweden have them
www.guidelineflyfish.com under Dvd.

Chris.
Jack Cook has them available at the irishangler.com ( one of the site sponsors) he is away right now on the Grande Ronde until Oct 28th. Go to his online store and you will see the DVD for sale there. Make sure you get the one that will play on N American DVD players....DO NOT GET THE PAL version.
Unfortunately the DVD is only in the tiers native language...but I think tying and following along will not be a problem.
Enjoy....I am waiting for mine to arrive
