Tube Fly Question

When tying on tubes how much tube is left exposed at the rear of the fly to accomodate the use of junction tubing? Getting ready for a steely trip and we don't use tubes for our flats fish. Thanks for your help.

It depends on the connector tubing you are using. I use stuff which is really stetchy and once you slip it over the tube it stays put. I leave about 1/8" for it. If the tubing is hard and rigid like a lot of it is I would leave more.
