Very nice Vinnie!
I agree. Very cool pattern!
I saw some chrome last evening. It hitched a ride made a great leap and was active as all get out. To bad it was only about 12" long. At least it wasn't one of those damned "golden bones" :smokin:

I'd settle for a golden bone given my current fishing situation. A few weeks back I nearly tore my little toe off as I tripped over my sons baby gate. So now that the stiches are out and the pain has diminished I am able to go out after my late rendevous with the night time striper action.

Cool fly Vinnie, kind of an update on a great old west coast classic.

Vinnie,
Very nice looking. I'm sure there are many forum members who would like the recipe for it.

Howdy Russ, and thanks all for the compliments.
Hook: Bartleet CS10/1 2/0
Tag: as per preference, I used xrta small gold oval Largartun, three turns
followed by silk floss or ryon should you prefer
a topping of GP crest and ostrich herl for astetics.
Body: Flat small tinsel, xtra small oval and UNI-Yarn in purple.
Hackle: Purple goose shoulder, I have used schlappen and BEP too.
Wings: three pair each side of GP red side feathers and one yellow breast feather on each side for cheeks.
Throat: Purple teal tied in underneath and not wound around the return eye.
Enjoy.
Mike's fly does not call for tag end perse as this one, just three turns of oval tinsel then followed by the body.

Looks very nice Vinnie, nicer than anything I would tie on a line and swing through a boulder strewn run.
Happy Birthday also dude.
