So I've finally managed to get some good mallard flank to give tenting another shot. Just curious if anyone has any recommendations for an "easy" spey fly to start out with. I've got a decent selection of floss, tinsel, seal and some grey heron. Any help is greatly appreciated guys! Pics would be awesome to help with proportions and so on... I'll be using 1.5 AJ's to tie on.
Body olive Berlin wool
Hackle red cock (natural rooster coque is best sub for spey cock)
Rib alternate bars of flat gold and flat silver
Throat teal
Wing bronze mallard
