Leakingwaders sent me a PM the other day that they were on sale through Cabelas.ca so I grabbed one as a back up. It came in the mail today. I build most of my own rods but I couldn't even buy guides and cork for what they charged for the rod, sleeve and tube. If I didn't fish one of a friends once I'd have looked the other way but this rod casts wonderful with the right line. Going to make a great back up in Labrador for sure.
I agree, the bang per buck on these rods is unbeatable. Don't be surprised if that rod moves up from backup to front runner! When I bought my first one, I thought "this will be fun to mess around with" and didn't really take it too seriously until I cast and fished it and didn't want to stop using it!!
I have this one and use the Rio Switch Chucker #6 on it. I'm not fishing places that often need more than about a 50' cast, so the chucker works great.
I think the TLR is the newer model....and the rings that lock down the reel are nicer. Not sure about anything else.....other than whenever I get my Lsi out I really enjoy the easy/smooth feel.
Wow I just checked the website, those are cheap! I might need one as a backup as well.
