Don't forget the relative humidity! Humidity can have a huge impact on the coefficient of silica impaction. This of course is complicated by a rod with a matte finish.

If you don't agree with or move to understand other's method, is there a need to pull in member's family name into the forum?

Conservation is nothing more than the fight to save ourselves from ourselves, work that can only be done by ourselves.

Then, somewhere in the mix of learning and time, things simplify themselves, and we may pay less attention to the noise, and more time just enjoying the cast and swing, regardless of the line, rod, matching hip pack, running line para-physics, etc. [/QUOTE]

Amen! Words to live by.

For you newcomers to our glorious sport: Get some line that loads your rod, take a lesson or two, and learn to cast. There IS NO magic bullet. Put in the time. Have some fun and go fish.

Then if you are a tech-nerd with an engineer's mind, have a ball. The sky is the limit. Likewise, if you are a laid-back soak-it-all-in-nature-lovin-fish-like-a-heron type (closer to what I am) your sky is also the limit. The beauty of all this is that we can find our own path and follow it as we wish. So long as we are happy and content.
