Quality stuff.

If you can still remember the price it must certainly have made an impression! Is this the same model that had the little "casting brake pads" that worked by centripetal acceleration? That is minor feature I somehow remember from 4 decades ago.

Unfortunately almost nothing of sentimental value that I had as a kid survived the great purge - my father who had an extreme Spartan sensibility threw most of my "old" things out without asking me when I went away to school.

That's the one - very easy to teach someone to cast using a multiplier with these.

I have more modern, higher speed, versions (6500C Rockets) I use for sea fishing (I live on the edge of a coastal city); but the old red 6000 still makes me smile & holds so many memories.

Regards, Tyke.

I can imagine. I went several decade where I did not fish much, partly due to the places where I lived, and when I took it up again it initially created a very strong emotional/mental link to my youth. It I had a chance to use literally the same gear I can't imagine how much that feeling would have been magnified!
